White Field Facility
The majority of our student-led research takes place at our on-campus facility, located at the White Field Research Laboratory. Here, we have three indoor test cells and one outdoor test stand where our graduate students plan and execute research projects to fulfill their academic requirements. Although similar to NDTL’s Ignition Park test stands, the White Field test stands operate at an order of magnitude lower power. While the test conditions remain relevant to modern turbomachinery, these cells can be safely and economically run by our graduate students. These facilities provide relevant research experience, preparing students for their future careers in academia, government, and the private sector.
